A Healed Cat is dedicated to serving and empowering the cats and kittens of the world in any kind of healing crisis. The cats and their families impacted by Hurricane Helene are no exception.
You deeply care for the cats and kittens in your life, and we are grateful you have invited us on your journey to restore them to optimal health and wellbeing. We have been on this mission since our first FIV (Feline AIDS) kitten died brutally in 2002, and never looked back. So today we are asking for your support on a slightly different wellness mission.
The communities hit the hardest by Hurricane Helene in September are battling devastation at levels far greater than most of us can imagine. The feelings of overwhelm day by day are just too much emotionally to process.
But in the spirit of the survivors, we are reaching out to our own community of cat families to help the people and cats of Western North Carolina. We can make a difference to at least feed those hardest hit in this awful disaster zone.
Formerly Feline Kidney Revive, we have re-imagined our cat supplement to serve as a shelf-stable, lightweight emergency cat and kitten food for those who need it most. We are bringing this back to directly support the victims- there are no commercial sales at this time. All funds raised by our campaign will go directly to purchase and package ingredients for the Emergi-Cat food for those cats in hard to reach areas. Our first goal is 100 1lb bags.
This is our package design so far. We aim for our food to support rescue efforts in Western North Carolina which still remain inaccessible by vehicle, and to support those climbing in to precarious situations seeking to rescue surviving cats where carrying heavy bags and cans are not practical.
Thus far, Sister Kitten of Asheville- a registered 501 c(3) is on standby to receive our food as soon as we raise the funds to get the bags to her and her volunteers. In the meantime, we are working on recruiting our own volunteers to help mix and fill these bags.
We will be sharing more details soon as to how you can get involved if you desire!
Thank you for your patience with us over these past months as we have been undergoing substantial transformation at all levels. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey to wellness, and we will be in touch again soon!
V/R,
A Healed Cat Team
